Clemson love!

I can't let Mic have all of the sports "authority" in our house, now can I? Laney was a true fan of the Clemson Tigers during the Clemson vs. NC State football game!

Thanks to Mimi, Laney had brand new Clemson baby shoes to wear all day in support of her favorite team (at least for that week)! She wore them proudly & thought they were supposed to go not only on her feet, but also in her mouth! Ha! Doesn't everything belong there? She's such a happy baby & even more happy when she is wearing the beloved orange & purple! Go Tigers!!

Roll over, roll over...send Laney right over!

She did it!! Laney has been trying really hard over the past few weeks to roll her little chubby body over, and tonight Mic & I both witnessed her success! Unfortunately, we were out-of-town last weekend when our in-laws told us she was rolling over continuously (from her back to her tummy)! We hated that we weren't here to see it, but knew in time, she would do it again!

Once she got comfortable on the floor tonight, it was only a matter of minutes & the rest is history! She was rolling over all around the floor & just has happy as she could be! Just goes to show she's not a little baby any more! Pretty soon, I'll be crawling around on my hands & knees baby-proofing the entire house! My how time flies! Way to go Laney!!

Yummy sweet potatoes!!

With the green light from our beloved pediatrician, we decided we would introduce Laney to baby food! On Sunday, August 31st, Laney tasted yummy sweet potatoes for the first time! She had tried rice cereal before and didn't care too much for it, but her experience with sweet potatoes was a little different.

At first, she tried to turn away from the spoon, but with persistence and lots of reassurance from mom & dad, she gave it a go & really liked it! She hasn't quite mastered opening her mouth for more, but she definitely swallows when you give her more! It was so funny watching her trying to eat & Mic did not appreciate the mess she made...but that's just what little babies do! He'll adjust to the messes, I'm sure of it! (He doesn't have much of a choice...ha!)

She still loves her formula every day, but is definitely open to trying new things! It's bananas this week!! We'll keep you updated on our growing baby girl! We're having so much fun being parents...we love you Laney!

Go Appalachian State!!

So last Saturday, our family geared up for the LSU vs. App. State game! As you can tell, some of us looked extremely adorable supporting the black & gold! Although Daddy & Laney cheered very hard, the Mountaineers couldn't pull out a win in Death Valley! I'm sure this won't be the last time these two get dressed up together to cheer for App. State...even Murphy joined in too with his collar! Gotta love college football! The Bernard family certainly does!!

4 months of fun!

Laney is now 4 1/2 months old and is so fun these days! Her little personality is beginning to show & her laugh is so contagious! She is quick to let you know the things she likes & doesn't like. At her 4 month check-up, she received 3 more shots (poor thing) & a great bill-of-health from her pediatrician! She is now 26.5 inches long & weighs 16 pounds!!! She is out growing her clothes faster than I can keep them washed!

We recently introduced her to her bouncy swing, and as you can see...she thinks it's wonderful! Her chubby little legs get a workout & she loves being able to bounce and move on her own. She's such a good baby & we can't get enough of her!
Daycare is going well! She's finally adjusting & Sherri and the gang all think she's wonderful @ Teachers' Pets. I went to pick her up the other day & found her in a swing on the backyard swingset as happy as she could be!! She loves being outside & the swing, so what a perfect combination!

Laney also helped me celebrate my birthday this past weekend! She gave me the sweetest card & loved the tissue paper from the gift bag! Who knew tissue paper could be so entertaining?

Hard to believe she'll be five months old next week! Oh how time flies when you're having fun!

Easy entertainment

Recently, Laney discovered that she could blow bubbles by making vibrations with her tongue and lips. It's hilarious! She also thinks it's funny & will laugh out loud as soon as she does it! This particular afternoon was her third day home from daycare, & she was so happy! She & Mic laughed continuously for at least 10 miuntes. She even thought Murphy was funny! She's so observant & notices everything! Her smile and laugh are contagious! Oh, how we love our Laneybug!!
