10 months old!

It's so hard to believe that our "Baby Laney" is going to be one in only a few short weeks! She is such a joy and Mic & I look forward to all the fun things each new day brings!

These days, Laney is enjoying yogurt, french toast, mac & cheese, any kind of cracker, oatmeal, sweet potatoes (the grown-up kind...no baby food for her!), mandarin oranges, Cheerios & the list goes on! She is drinking from a sippy cup now (like a pro!), but still enjoys her bottles on cue!

She is on the verge of crawling (we are waiting for her to take off any day now) & pulling up w/ little assistance! She loves her rocking chair, seeing Murphy, feeding Murphy, bath time & bed time! She laughs out loud at the simplest things & loves drinking out of a straw (thanks Mimi). She claps her hands & waves "bye-bye". She's learning to let you know when there is something she needs or wants. She loves her hair brush & recently got her 1st toothbrush. She has two teeth (both on the bottom) & crazy hair when she wakes up in the morning. She loves to go to the playground & swing, she's trying to talk, but she ends up sounding like she's German (it's so funny!) . She loves her jumper & can entertain herself for what seems like hours with only a book & a baby doll. She loves cell phones, bows in her hair & earrings (watch out...she'll try her best to pull them out). She wears 18 mo. clothes, she outgrows something every time it comes through the washing machine, and needs new socks - what seems like every week!

She couldn't be more cute or happy!

At her 9 mo. check-up, she weighed in at 23 lbs (97%) and 30 in. long (99%). She's a healthy, growing, beautiful little girl! We're so blessed!

Crazy about Addie!!

Yes, there's no other way to put it...Laney is crazy over Alison's little dog named Addie! We all know that Laney loves animals - no matter what kind! But there's something special about little Addie! (Maybe it's her size!) She is so funny & makes everyone laugh when she sees Alison's dog! It's the little things in life that make us happy. Right now for Laney...that little thing is Addie!

Happy Birthday Cade & Eva!

Two weeks ago, Laney got to attend her first birthday parties...surprisingly, they were both in the same day! She had fun all day long! First, we went to Cade's house. He was turning two! The party started at 10:30am, Laney was still sleeping at 12 noon. (I tell you, this girl loves to sleep!) Needless to say, we were very late, but luckily everyone was still there & she got to watch him open his presents & even got to play with some of them too!

Later that afternoon, we went to My Gym to celebrate Miss Eva's 3rd birthday! This has to be the best place EVER to have a birthday party! They took care of everything! From the candles to the activities/music & the list goes on! I think every child there had a great time! Laney & Sara were the youngest kids, but they joined in on the fun too! Laney loved watching the puppet show & all the kids running around. She loved the balls (most of them ended up in her mouth), but she had the most fun on the swings. She & Sara got to ride the "hot dog" swing & even got to ride on the zip line! She was too cute!

I know this is only the beginning of the many, fun birthdays we'll attend over the years! This was definitely a great sign of the fun times ahead. Oh yeah...we've got a 1st birthday party for a special little girl in only 8 weeks!!!

It's a snow day!

What a great l-o-n-g weekend we had! My friends Lisa & Lyn were in town visiting while Lisa went on an interview @ Presbyterian Hospital (where she scored an awesome job as a pediatrician...woo hoo!! We can't wait to have you guys here!) Meanwhile, her husband Lyn & I watched the t.v. all day with possibilities of snow coming our way! I didn't think I'd actually be lucky enough to have a 4 day weekend, but I was wrong!

We woke up on Inauguration Day to almost 4 inches of snow on the ground! It couldn't have been more beautiful! Not only did we get to stay home to watch history being made, but we even got to play in the snow & watch daddy make Laney a nice, big, snowman!

She didn't know what to think of the snow! She was so bundled up & wrapped up, she could hardly move & all she could do at this fluffy white stuff was stare! She was so cute!

Mic built her a snowman & even found eyes, arms & a nose underneath the snow! He was perfect!

In all, we had so much fun with sweet Laney & took lots of pictures of her very first snow! Even Murphy got to act like a wild man running around...I don't think he knew what to think either!!

Unfortunately, it only lasted a day & back to work we went! But we sure did enjoy it while it lasted!!
